On this week's show, Tom Coates returns to take us through some of the history of 4AD, via some of his all time favourite artists: Pixies, The Breeders, Frank Black, and Kristin Hersh. Meanwhile, we feature the latest Volume 11 & 12, release from Josh Homme's Desert Sessions project — the first release from the quirky ephemeral in supergroup in over 15 years. The rough edges and oddities are part of the charm, but the new record contains some really great work by any measure, Homme's recognisable sound applied to different styles and voices.
