For the second installment of Shadowtime's Halloweeeeee month, we're talking about zombies. What's behind all the movies and TV shows and books about surviving a zombie apocalypse? From Haitian Voodoo and slavery to modern day capitalism, there's a lot more than you might think.
In 2017, on my former BFF show Radical Advice, I spoke with my friend and now creative collaborator Zara Zimbardo who's published research and analysis on the topic of zombies. I edited that original interview and added some spooky sound design and what you have now is a compelling deep dive into zombie culture.
Zara a professor of cultural anthropology at California Institute of Integral Studies, a writer, and activist and founder of The White Noise Collective.
