I avoided Peter Greenaway’s film “The Pillow Book” while hunting for material for this show. Instead, I used different recitations in English and Japanese. I included recordings of a college lit class discussing it and talks discussing life in 10 century Japan. Specifically the artistic thought process of a wealthy courtesan.
